Back To Basics

Okay, back to the usual bi-weekly workshop sketches. Here are some from recent months, great poses by Daniella Traub, Xine Zanillo,Sara Streeter and Debra Haden (recently married, congratulations!) Thank you all!

Dangerous curves

Here's another remake of an earlier class sketch, a dangerous biker gal pose by the amazing Stacy Walker. I took this one about as far as I could. Thanks for the inspiration Stacy!

Red Ruin

Finally, something new to post. This is based on a great pose and costume by the amazing Stacy Walker. I may have worked it to death, but I think it was worth it in this case. Thanks Stacy!

Dangerous and Demure

A couple of poses by the fantastic Amanda Keenan as a great gypsy with attitude,(and a sword) and more by the lovely Patty Metoki in one of her amazing kimonos with purple hair and another really sharp sword. It stayed in the scabbard for safety. Thank you both!

Is it digital or "real"?

Here are a couple of recents, see if you can guess if they're actual pastel/charcoal or an Ipad digital sketch? Still getting used to Ipad sketching, has a few challenges like a slick surface and brush controls I'm not used to, but I'm learning!

The Viking Queen

Taryn Piana brought her great Viking warrior wolf costume to the drawing group last week and I took one of the sketches to a more finished state. Great inspiration, thanks Taryn!

Space Warp

Debra Haden was fantastic as a sparkly space hero, complete with hand crafted costume. Thanks Debra!

The lovely Stacy Walker in oils as the Pirate Queen in a long pose. A good bit of Photoshop tweaking afterwards. Thanks Stacy!

Downton Abbey VS Thunderball

Here are a couple from January, we're on a limited schedule for workshops right now. Two themes that are pretty different, keeps things interesting! The always versatile Sara Streeter in scuba gear (from my basement)for Thunderball, and a very classy Daniella Traub at the manor house. Thank you both!

Booped

Workshop has been a bit sporadic lately, but we finally got to paint the other night. Debra Haden created a great Betty Boop/flapper costume and makeup, thanks Debra! This piece was about 2 hours.

Season of the Witch

Stacy Walker conjured up her amazing pagan witch for us Wednesday to bring out the Halloween spirit. Thanks Stacy!

Murder, Mayhem and Moriarty

We recently went to the darker side with a visit from Mr. Sherlock Holmes himself (well, it was Rick Galiher, who suffered through our lousy air conditioning) and Sara Streeter returning in her finest film noir garb to inspire us. Thank you both!

Warriors

Just a couple to post, Stacy Walker blasts her way through the solar system in a great retro space costume, and Larva takes on anyone who gets in her way with cold steel as Elektra. A lot of folks don't appreciate what hard work it is to model for 3 hours in an art class, often after doing the same thing all day at a different location. Thank you both for the great costumes and poses!

Sharp As A Razor

We had a new model last night, Patty Metoki in her finest Ninja garb. Excellent job, great costume and props. Thanks Patty!
