The Woodland Fairy

Here's another one from workshop sketch to finished art. Sara Streeter as a woodland fairy. Okay, I admit this one got a bit corny, but the pose seemed to suggest that approach. Hope fairies are immune to deer ticks! Thanks Sara!

Poor Little Fishy!

Marissa Gomez posed for us a month or 2 ago in a great sailor girl costume. One of the drawings I did inspired me to try a more finished calendar piece ala Gil Elvgren, the king of pin up. It needed a gag, so I added the little fish and the hungry seagulls. Anyway, I think it worked pretty well. Thank Marissa!

Dangerous and Delicate

We had the lovely Sara Streeter last night as a Femme Fatale. A little dramatic under lighting at the end was a good challenge. Thanks Sara!

An Offering of Snakes

I took one of the Sara drawings I liked from last week and colored it up. Her bowl was actually a foam core disk, I thought it could use a little edge, so a snake.

Nymph or Naiad?

Those classical guys. I always get those two confused. Anyway, we had the lovely and talented Sara Streeter last night as a Nymph/Naiad maiden, Waterhouse meets Game of Thrones.I tried a new paper, Canson XL, and it works great compared to the Strathmore I have been using since God was a boy.A bit smoother but still plenty of tooth. Good dark tones without looking as heavy. thanks Sara!

Egon Schiele and More Guns

We recently had Daniella Traub posing as an Egon Schiele model and she was Wunderbar! Then Tish Marie appeared as a 70s action film gal with gun, always a good subject. Fun stuff.

Starlets and Beach Bunnies

Debra Haden was great as a sparkly starlet (I hurt my back so the other sketches from that evening were stinkers) and Lauren Annette was rockin' as a 60s beach bunny/ Gidget type. Her water bottle had to stand in as a Coke bottle.

Murder at Silver Creek

A month or so ago our model was Peggy Moore who did a great job as a saloon gal. One pose got me thinking it would make a nice 60s/70s paperback cover, so I went for it. Thanks Peggy!

Susie Homemaker

Taryn Piana posed as a saucy Susie Homemaker last night, throwing in a bit of Gil Elvgren pin-up style toward the end. Great poses! I added some imaginary props and some tone just to give them a bit of finish. Thanks Taryn!

Cosmo Romance Story

We had the lovely Debra Haden as a young lady in 50s/60s formal wear. The story line we made up is she arrives at the dance only to be abandoned by her date, but in the end she's happy to be rid of him. Anyway, that was her motivation through the evening of poses, see if you think it comes through in the drawings! Thanks Debra!
